My husband ignored 17 calls while i was giving birth to his baby. Five days later, i came home with our newborn and caught another woman in my bedroom—wearing my robe.

His mother took one look at me and said, “don’t make a scene.” I didn’t. I just put my baby down, made one phone call, and watched their faces turn white.

Part 1: The Homecoming I Had Been Dreading

Five days after welcoming my daughter into the world, I stood outside the front door of the multi-million-dollar estate I had called home for almost six years.

My newborn daughter, Cora, was sleeping peacefully against my chest in a soft beige carrier.

I moved carefully. My body was still recovering from a difficult delivery, and my doctor had explicitly warned me to avoid stairs, heavy lifting, and any sudden stress that could derail my recovery.

But resting had become a cruel joke.

Julian Vance, my husband of six years, hadn’t stepped foot in the hospital since the second day of my labor.
