Where Things Stand Now
Since then, my dad’s attitude toward me has changed completely, and not in a direction I expected. He believes I’ve deprived Liv of the security he promised her. There’s a lot of visible tension between the two of them now too — he blames me for being selfish, jealous, for somehow sabotaging his happiness out of spite.
Honestly, I only ever wanted what was legally, rightfully mine to begin with. It was never about taking anything away from either of them that hadn’t already belonged to me on paper for years.
So — am I wrong here, for claiming what legally belonged to me, even knowing it would upend my dad’s “happy” new relationship in the process?
