The most beautiful girl at school suddenly asked my lonely son to prom — I feared it was a cruel joke until she told me the real reason

He’d said, “Fine.”

And somewhere inside those ordinary days, my son had been quietly helping another child survive a miserable year.

Celeste continued.

“Milo changed because of him. Not overnight. But slowly.”

His grades improved.

He stopped begging his mother to let him stay home.

Eventually, he found friends of his own.

That spring, Milo made the honor roll for the first time.

Celeste said their mother cried when the letter arrived.

“But that’s still not why I asked Tobin,” she said.

I frowned.

“What do you mean?”

“Helping Milo made me notice him.”

Celeste explained that after learning what Tobin had done, she began paying attention to him at school.

And that was when she noticed something that bothered her.

Tobin was doing for other people exactly what no one was doing for him.
