WHEN I STOPPED BEING USEFUL: A MOTHER’S JOURNEY BACK TO HER OWN LIFE

Daniel’s family returned Sunday afternoon.

I knew because Emily called me from the airport.

“Hello, sweetheart.”

“We brought you something.”

“That was kind.”

“It’s not food because Daddy said airport food costs too much and Mommy said not everything in Hawaii counts as airport food.”
