I stood up angrily.
“DRIVER, PLEASE STOP THE BUS!”
The passengers turned toward us. Robert begged me through his tears to sit down.
“Just five minutes. After that, you can walk away from me forever.”
I sat back down but pulled my hand away from his. He took out a second envelope. Inside was a small black-and-white photograph. I saw a young woman lying in a hospital bed.
At first, I didn’t recognize her. Then I realized. It was me. And beside me was something small, wrapped in a white blanket.
I brought the photograph closer to my eyes. Robert began crying.
“Margaret, that night, you didn’t just undergo surgery.”
I froze. The continuation read in the comments 👇👇‼️‼️
“That night, you gave birth to a little girl.”
For several seconds, I couldn’t speak.
